Welcome to Codford!

Codford is a village and civil parish south of Salisbury Plain in the Wylye Valley in Wiltshire, England. The village lies some 7 miles (11 km) South East of Warminster.

Codford lies in the centre of the beautiful Wylye Valley, between Salisbury and Bath. The village is on the A36 road between Salisbury and Warminster. The A36 previously ran along the whole length of the High Street, but a bypass which was built in the 1990s removed the through traffic.  The Chitterne Brook flows north-south through the parish, then turns southeast to flow through Codford St Mary before joining the Wylye.

We have a range of local facilities including shop, post office, Doctors surgery, primary school, pre-school and bar as well as regular seasonal events including the popular ploughman’s lunches to support local community groups and churches and Artisan Markets to help support local small businesses.

We are proud of our Hall and grounds, bequeathed to the Parish of Codford in 1949 and having run as a charity serving the community for over 70 years since.  The Hall and the  Broadleaze Meadow Playing Fields are the venue for many village events and home to many clubs, the Hall being large enough for indoor sports such as badminton and the grounds contain a full-size football pitch, two tennis courts and a children's play area.  Our licensed bar also boasts a skittles alley.  The Hall and the Fields are available for private and corporate hire and we have plenty of parking space for those attending.

On 2 May 2024, following unanimous support from Codford Parish Council and more than 80 community members who attended an Extraordinary General Meeting, the Charities Commission approved an application by the Trustees for Codford Village Hall to become a new Charitiable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). The Charity's listing can be viewed here https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-search/-/charity-details/5240443/charity-overview
