Codford Local History Society was founded in 2003.
Activities include projects of a local nature, visits and talks on subjects of historical interest, ranging from modern times to prehistory. The Society meet about seven times per year, usually in the Codford Village Hall.
An example of a current project is the recording of graffiti in St Mary's and St Peter's Churches for the Wiltshire Digital Recording Project.
In 2014 we ran a "Wylye Valley 1914" project researching life in the valley during the early stage of World War 1. We have a pattern of evening talks in the winter months and a visit in the summer.
Currently the Society has over 50 members, the membership fee is £7 per year and we welcome visitors and new members.
